Saturday Night Film Night

Who doesn't need a night of just pure happiness? For me, books and films are about escaping into a happy reality. When I'm in the right mood, I do love historical and action films, but a lot of the time recently, I just need something to just make me happy, and that's why this week, I'm watching the Princess Diaries.

Mia Thermopolis has just found out that she is the heir apparent to the throne of Genovia. With her friends Lilly and Michael Moscovitz in tow, she tries to navigate through the rest of her sixteenth year.






I still remember the day that my friend showed me the Princess Diaries series, somewhere at the tender age of 11. I immediately fell in love and continued eagerly reading and awaiting the rest of the series, and reading the rest of Ms. Cabot's works. So you can imagine my joy when this was turned into a film! And then another one came out!

The film doesn't follow the books, something which is actually hilariously addressed in the books by Ms. Cabot, but that doesn't make it any less perfect. Also, you have Chris Pine and Julie Andrews. So, I don't see how they can be anything less than perfect! I have read that there will also be a third film releasing at some point, I'm not sure the full accuracy to this (I've been awaiting the announcement of National Treasure 3 for over 8 years now...), but I'm crossing my fingers!

Honestly, the book series itself is my favourite book series of all time (no exaggeration), and the films are just the perfect cherry on top!

Saturday Night Film Night

Welcome back to another Saturday Night Film Night!

Another firm favourite, and originally a book by Jenny Han, To All The Boys I've Loved Before is the first in her P.S. I Love You series. Picked up by Netflix, and then the second and third books quickly booked up and turned into films, there's plenty of viewing time to watch!

A teenage girl's secret love letters are exposed and wreak havoc on her love life.








I'll admit I didn't think I'd like these films as much as I do. There's something so quiet and understated, but powerful about them, that they just work perfectly. The cast is incredible, and Noah Centineo definitely emerged in the public eye after this, but all together the cast are phenomenal. Lara-Jean and her family make you want to be part of them, and they all have screen time and are important to the overall story.

Honestly, this film is just magical with its love story, go watch.

Saturday Night Film Night

Checking out the most popular post of this week, I was a little shocked and happy to find it was Saturday Night Film Night! So, what are we watching this weekend?

After serving as a bridesmaid 27 times, a young women wrestles with the idea of standing by her sister's side as her sibling marries the man she's secretly in love with.







Also one of my favourite the films, 27 Dresses is just magical. It does resonate with me for a variety of reasons, but everything about this film is fabulous. I would like to ask who hasn't fallen in love with James Marsden by the end of this (definitely not me), and the two leads just match perfectly. There's fun, romance, a great supporting cast that we do get to know, and also a great musical number.

Saturday Night Film Night!

What are you watching this Saturday night? I'm purely on a happiness kick at the moment, so we're watching When in Rome.

Beth is a young, ambitious New Yorker who is completely unlucky in love. However, on a whirlwind trip to Rome, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of suitors.

I don't know if I can possibly love Josh Duhamel in a film anymore than this film. OK, well, we'll debate that over the next few weeks. But he's honestly just perfection in this one. 100% worth many rewatches.

What are you watching this weekend? If you haven't seen it yet, check out Dog Days.

A group of interconnected people in Los Angeles are brought together by their lovely canine counterparts.

All about the importance of dogs in our lives, intertwined with stories of loss, adoption, romance, redemption, it was honestly one of the best and most underrated films I've seen. There's quite a few famous actors in this as well, so I was a little surprised so few people have heard of it, but honestly, it's become one of my favourite films. I will warn, there are tearjerker moments, and I've cried every time I've watched it, but also finished it feeling a lot happier than I did starting it. Honestly, go watch!
